Christ's Passion

This is a song I wrote back when I was 17. It was nearing Christmas and I had just come back from a Ray Boltz's concert in KL. I was really impressed by his song, "Watch The Lamb". A powerful Christmas song. I was scheduled to perform for the Christmas service and so I decided, why not do something original? Something that brings out the message of Christmas. Little did I know that this song became my mother's favorite song among all the others which I have written and little did I know that I was asked to do this song again during Easter.

This song is from the perspective of a typical Christian kid who goes to church out of routine and then, it happened. It was at a Christmas service in which it dawned upon him the real meaning of Christmas. Christmas is not just another holiday, nor is it about presents and carols but it is the beginning of the ultimate sacrifice for mankind. I truly and sincerely hope you will be blessed by this song.

Christ's Passion
The bell rings and I awake
Christmas morn has dawn
I rushed to the Christmas tree
A little gift I see

Disappointed, I dragged to church
Christmas message - the same and boring
I yawned and I was feeling bored
Then it hit me when I heard him say

A man laid down His life for you
He bore the cross on His back
He endured the mocking and suffering
A crown of thorns He wore
The people scorned and tortured Him
He died for you and me
He paid the price with blood His own
On Christmas day He was born

A tear fell from my eye
Those words just broke my heart
I could never imagine
The babe on this day
Would die for me

I couldn't sleep that night
My heart cried out to Him
I knew He's what I was searching for
So I opened the Bible and it said
[Chorus]

My life is never the same
Now I live to tell the tale
Hoping that people will know of Him
So I'll go round and say...
